1.Who we are and how to reach us

ioCharge Innovations Inc. is a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada. We are the organization accountable for the personal information described in this policy.

As required by Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), we have designated an individual who is accountable for our compliance with this policy. You can reach them at:

2.The information we collect

We collect only what this site needs in order to work and to respond to you. There is no account system, no login, and no payment processing on this site.

Information you give us

When you complete the contact form, we collect the information you enter into it:

• Your name (required)
• Your email address (required)
• Your message (required)
• Your company name (optional)
• Your phone number (optional)
• The inquiry type you select — for example fleet partnership, real estate site, investor inquiry or press

We also receive whatever you choose to include if you email us directly or apply to us about a role.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, ours generates standard server and content-delivery logs when a page is requested. Those logs are created by our hosting provider and may include:

• Your IP address, and the approximate region derived from it
• Your browser type and version, operating system and device type
• The pages you requested, the referring page, and the date and time of each request
• Technical error and performance information

What we do not collect

We do not run analytics, advertising, profiling or social media tracking on this site, and we do not build visitor profiles. We also do not knowingly collect sensitive information — health information, biometric data, government identifiers, or financial account details. Please do not send information of that kind through the contact form.

3.Why we collect it, and our legal basis

We use personal information for these purposes:

• To respond to your inquiry and correspond with you about it
• To evaluate and pursue potential partnerships, host sites, supplier relationships and investor interest
• To consider you for employment, where you contact us about working with us
• To operate, secure, maintain and troubleshoot the site, and to detect and prevent spam, fraud and abuse
• To comply with our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims

In Canada, under PIPEDA and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), we rely on your consent. You give that consent by submitting the contact form or by emailing us, and you can withdraw it at any time — see “Your rights and choices” below.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR are: your consent; the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract; our legitimate interests in operating and securing our site and in developing our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and compliance with a legal obligation.

4.Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or cross-context behavioural marketing. We rely on a small number of service providers to run this site and to deliver your messages to us. Each is bound by contract to process personal information only on our instructions and to protect it.

Fonts and images are served from our own domain. This site makes no request to any third-party analytics, advertising or font host while you browse it.

We may also disclose personal information where we are required or permitted to do so by law or by a valid order of a court or regulator; to enforce our Terms of Use; to protect the rights, property or safety of ioCharge, our users or the public; to our professional advisors under a duty of confidentiality; and in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition or sale of assets — in which case the recipient will be required to use the information in a manner consistent with this policy.

5.Where your information is stored, and transfers outside Canada

Our service providers store and process personal information on servers located in the United States and potentially in other countries. This means your personal information may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of those countries under their laws.

PIPEDA and BC PIPA require that we tell you this. By submitting the contact form or emailing us, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred, stored and processed outside Canada.

For transfers of personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision in respect of Canada and, in respect of our United States providers, on the Standard Contractual Clauses (together with the UK Addendum or International Data Transfer Agreement, as applicable).

6.Cookies and similar technologies

This site does not set analytics, advertising, profiling or social media cookies, and it does not use web beacons, pixels or fingerprinting. No consent banner is presented because there is nothing to consent to.

If we introduce analytics or any other tracking technology in future, we will update this policy before doing so and, where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent first.

Because we do not track you across sites, we take no action in response to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control browser signals — there is no cross-site tracking to turn off.

7.How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as long as the law requires.

• Contact form submissions and related correspondence: retained in our email systems for as long as the relationship or inquiry is active, and reviewed and deleted when no longer needed — generally within 24 months of our last contact with you, unless an ongoing relationship or a legal, tax or record-keeping obligation requires that we keep it longer.
• Server and delivery logs: retained by our hosting and email providers for a short period in the ordinary course, typically around 30 days.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See the next section.

8.How we protect it

Traffic to and from this site is encrypted in transit using TLS. Form submissions are transmitted to our email provider over an encrypted connection. Access to inquiries is limited to the people at ioCharge who need it in order to respond. We select reputable providers and rely on their technical and organizational security measures.

No method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure. Please do not send confidential, proprietary or sensitive information through the contact form — contact us first and we will arrange a secure channel.

9.Your rights and choices

If you are in Canada

Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and how we have used and disclosed it, to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete, and to withdraw your consent to our continued use of it (subject to legal and contractual restrictions, and to reasonable notice — withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer respond to your inquiry).

If you are in the EEA or the United Kingdom

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal information; to have it rectified or erased; to restrict or object to our processing of it, including processing based on legitimate interests; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

If you are in California

Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to request deletion or correction of it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that legislation. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

How to exercise them

Email us at info@iocharge.com or write to the Privacy Officer at the address in the first section. We may need to ask you for information to verify your identity before we act on a request. We will respond within 30 days, or within any shorter period the applicable law requires, and will tell you if we need more time.

There is no charge for a reasonable request. If a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, we may charge a reasonable fee or decline to act, and we will tell you why.

10.Children

This site is directed at businesses and professionals. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11.Links to other websites

This site links to third-party websites, including our social media profiles and the websites of partners and suppliers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave our site.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our service providers or the law. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Where a change is material, we will make that clear on this page. Please review it periodically.

13.Questions and complaints

If you have a question or a concern about how we handle personal information, contact us first at info@iocharge.com. We take complaints seriously and will investigate and respond to you.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you may complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
